We are delighted to announce that the nominations window for the 2018 Women in Film and Television Awards is now open.
The annual event, now in its 28th year, celebrates the achievements of women in the industry across 14 different categories including Director, Writer, Producer, Business and Contribution to the Medium.
Absolutely anyone can make a nomination – you don’t have to be a WFTV member and you don’t have to be a woman, you could even nominate yourself! It’s easy and can be done quickly via this online form.
Who should I nominate?
Maybe it’s someone you’ve worked with – a terrific editor, production manager or cinematographer. Or perhaps it’s a great new talent you’ve spotted on TV or at a film festival, or someone you feel has made a great contribution to the industry over the years. You could even nominate yourself! This is your chance to have your say.
Last year’s winners included TV chef and presenter Nadiya Hussain, Game of Thrones actress Gemma Whelan, and four of the creative team behind the BBC series Three Girls – Philippa Lowthorpe (Director), Nicole Taylor (Writer), Susan Hogg (Producer) and Úna Ní Dhonghaíle (Editor). Much-loved dramatic and comedy actress Celia Imrie won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
WFTV CEO, Kate Kinninmont said: “This is a great opportunity for everyone in the business to think about the talented women they work with and nominate them for an award. We have a total of 14 categories and many of our winners have gone on to win BAFTAs. I encourage everyone to think about who they would like to see up on the stage this year and get nominating!”
There are thirteen categories open for nominations, covering all areas of the industry.
So, if you want to see outstanding achievement recognised on stage at the 2018 WFTV Awards, make your voice heard and start nominating today.
Nominations close at 12 noon on Wednesday 12 September 2018.
