Lia has worked in film marketing since 2000, when she started her career working on both blockbusters and specialist films at Sony Pictures UK. After a year out traveling and working in Sydney, she joined leading independent distributer Momentum Pictures in 2006 and contributed to breaking out a number of foreign and arthouse films including Let the Right One In, Jo Nesbo’s Headhunters, The Raid and Steve McQueen’s Shame.
In 2011 Lia became Marketing Director and contributed to breaking box office records for The King’s Speech and The Woman in Black. Lia joined start-up distributor Altitude Films in 2014, a vertically integrated British independent, co-founded by Optimum Releasing’s Will Clarke. Her most recent successes include leading the world’s marketing strategy for Asif Kapadia’s Oscar-winning documentary Amy, which broke the UK box office record for the biggest British documentary of all time.
